By admin Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana was excluded from the team’s squad last night for their London derby clash with North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
Fofana has reportedly suffered another injury just a few weeks after returning to the pitch following 3 months of being sidelined due to a previous injury.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 24-year-old has suffered a new injury and he will be assessed in the next days by Chelsea’s medical team.
The Frenchman has struggled for fitness since joining Chelsea from Leicester City for £70 million plus £5m in add-ons in the summer of 2022. In almost three years with the Blues, Fofana has only made 29 Premier League appearances.
Fofana’s new injury comes as blow to the London side who have recently welcomed Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson back from injuries.
