Orioles Edge Angels in Father’s Day Thriller at Camden Yards
The Baltimore Orioles delivered a dramatic 6–5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in Sunday’s Father’s Day matinée, capping off a weekend of strong performances with a nail-biting win in front of a lively Camden Yards crowd.
The game got off to a fast start as the Angels opened with a two-run homer in the top of the first inning. The Orioles responded swiftly in the bottom half, tying the game 2–2 with a solo shot and a clutch RBI groundout. Both teams continued to trade momentum early, with the Orioles taking a 3–2 lead in the third thanks to a timely RBI single.
The Angels wouldn’t go away quietly. A solo home run in the fifth tied the game once again, forcing Baltimore to dig into their bullpen earlier than expected. The breakthrough came in the sixth, when the Orioles erupted with back-to-back home runs. A two-run blast, followed by a solo shot from a veteran slugger making his return from injury, gave the Orioles a 6–3 lead and fired up the home crowd.
Los Angeles made it interesting down the stretch, scoring runs in the sixth and eighth innings to close the gap to just one. But Baltimore’s closer held firm in the ninth, earning his 14th save of the season and sealing a hard-fought win.
Standout performances included a key two-run homer and two-hit game from a centerfielder, solid contact hitting from the infield, and strong bullpen work in the late innings. With the win, the Orioles secured the series and continued to build momentum in the American League.
It was a fitting Father’s Day celebration in Baltimore: big bats, tense moments, and a thrilling finish that gave the fans plenty to cheer about.
