Catalan giants, Barcelona will officially face Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund in the Quarter finals of the UEFA Champions League.
The tie became official this evening after Borussia Dortmund came from behind to beat French side Lille by 2 goals to 1 in the second leg of the round of 16 tie.
Dortmund and Lille clashed today for the second leg of the tie, after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw in Germany.
Hosts Lille took an early lead with Jonathan David’s strike after just five minutes of action. The hosts hanged unto their lead throughout the first half of the game, but were drawn level at the 54th minute, after Emre Can converted a penalty.
The visitors took the lead in the 65th minute courtesy of Maximilian Beier’s strike and were able to hold unto their lead till the end.
Borussia Dortmund advanced by a 3 goals to 2 win on aggregate. The German side will officially meet Barcelona in the Quarters of the Champions League knockout stage.
Barcelona already advanced on Tuesday, after beating Portuguese side, Benfica 3-1 at home. The Laliga league leaders had also won the first leg of the tie by a single goal to none in Portugal, totalling 4-1 on aggregate.
