Laliga league leaders Barcelona have confirmed injuries of midfielder Marc Casodo and defender Iñigo Martinez.
Both players picked up their injuries from Barcelona’s 4-2 comeback win against Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano this past weekend.
Barcelona confirms that tests were carried out on both players on Monday morning revealing the severity of the injuries of both players.
The statement from Barcelona read: “Tests carried out on Monday morning have shown that the first team player Marc Casadó has an injury to a ligament in his right knee. The player is to undergo further tests to ascertain the extent of the injury and subsequent treatment.”
“Monday morning also saw tests that have confirmed that the first team player Iñigo Martinez has a swollen right knee. The player will undergo treatment in Barcelona under the supervision of the Club’s medical staff.” The statement also read.
Iñigo Martinez is expected to be out for about two three weeks, while Marc Casado is expected to be out for about two months. Fabrizio Romano reports that Casado’s season might be over.
The two players were expected to join up with the Spanish national team ahead of Nations League Quarter final games against the Netherlands but neither will be available for the game.
