Bayern Munich: Bundesliga
Bayern Munich coach confident ahead of UCL game against Chelsea
Bayern will be back in UCL action after a quarter-final exit last season
Bayern Munich had a perfect weekend.
A 5-0 win against Hamburger SV where they finished the opposition in the first half and rested important players for the next game. Bayern’s Champions League campaign for this season will begin on Wednesday against Chelsea. With a thumping win and plenty of rest, coach Vincent Kompany cannot be more pleased.
Post the game against Hamburger, Kompany gave a calm and confident response regarding the home game against Chelsea(as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We put ourselves in a good situation today. We’re going into the next game full of confidence. It’s a home game. Playing at Allianz Arena is an important factor. Like every other game, we’ll try to win – it doesn’t matter whether the opponent bought [players] for a billion or 10 million. For us it’s the same task” said Vincent Kompany as he took a shot at the spending power of a few select clubs.
Bayern Munich returned to action in the Bundesliga by hosting Hamburger SV and just crushed the visitors.
The Bavarians took home a 5-0 victory in a game that was never close. Bayern Munich was dominant from the outset and wasted little time in giving Hamburg a not so friendly welcome back to Germany’s top flight.
