Bournemouth’s Huijsen Earns First Call Up To Spain’s National Team

Spanish national team head coach, Luis de la Fuente has called up Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen for the upcoming international games this month.

The 19-year-old is expected to replace Barcelona’s Iñigo Martínez who picked up a knee injury in Barcelona’s 4-2 comeback win against Atletico Madrid during the weekend.

Huijsen who has been in sensational form this season for Bournemouth has earned himself a first call up to the Spanish national team.

Huijsen has been a key part of Bournemouth’s defense this season. The teenager has made 23 league appearances this season since joining the cherries from Juventus for €15 million during the summer, also scoring two goals since arriving in England.

Spain will face the Netherlands on 20th March for the first leg of the UEFA Nations League Quarter finals and again on the 23rd of March for the second leg of the tie.
