Japan have officially qualified for next year’s FIFA World Cup in North America.

The Asians become the first team to qualify for the tournament after beating Bahrain today by two goals to nil.

The Japanese still have three games left to play in the Qualifiers, but they have secured a place in the World Cup finals regardless of the outcome of the remaining games.

The outstanding Japanese team won six of their seven games, drawing once to secure their place in North America.

They become the 4th team in general to book their place for the tournament following the United States of America, Canada and Mexico who secure their spots as hosts.
