Ex Detroit’s lion wife Kelly Stafford Drops Two Words on Belichick and Hudson controversy in their relationship
The North Carolina Tar Heels and Bill Belichick surprised many by teaming up after the legendary NFL coach chose to enter the college football world.
As the 2025 season nears, however, Belichick is making headlines not for football, but because of his romance with Jordon Hudson. With drama heating up, Kelly Stafford, wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, shared her thoughts.
Belichick has typically worked hard to keep his personal life out of the public eye. That changed drastically when it was revealed that the 73-year-old coach is dating 24-year-old Hudson. The age gap already sparked debate, but a recent CBS interview that went viral after Hudson repeatedly spoke up has made their relationship a major topic in sports circles.
Since the viral interview aired, more reports about Belichick and Hudson’s relationship have emerged, many of which cast the pair in a negative light. Still, Belichick and Hudson seem unaffected. Belichick is continuing to prepare for his debut season at North Carolina while also promoting his latest book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football.
Interestingly, the Staffords have some experience with sudden public scrutiny of their relationship. Kelly faced backlash last year after admitting she briefly dated Matthew’s backup during college at Georgia to make him jealous. Though they’re married now, she later apologized for her remarks.
When asked about the Belichick-Hudson relationship, Stafford said she gets why they wouldn’t want personal questions. But she also pointed out that Hudson’s constant posts about Belichick on social media make the attention inevitable. With that context, Stafford had a quick two-word reaction to the recent questions about the couple.
“Fair game,” Stafford said on The Morning After with Kelly Stafford and Hank.
Belichick is likely eager for the 2025 season to begin, as he keeps finding his name in headlines for non-football reasons. Soon, he’ll start coaching at North Carolina, preparing for his first college football season at age 73.
In the NFL, Matthew Stafford isn’t ready to retire just yet. He’ll aim for another strong playoff run with the Rams after coming close to upsetting the eventual Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round
