No other school can match what Oklahoma has achieved this year. The Sooners captured a national championship, advanced to the Final Four in men’s basketball, reached the Women’s College World Series, and won a softball regional — making them the only athletic program in the country to hit all those major milestones in a single year.
The highlight came with Oklahoma’s football national title under head coach Brent Venables, who turned the program around with a relentless defense and explosive offense.
