Jaire Alexander Signs One-Year Deal with Ravens, Bolstering Baltimore’s Secondary
In a move that has electrified fans and analysts alike, Jaire Alexander has officially signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, bringing elite cornerback talent and veteran savvy to an already formidable defense. The former Green Bay Packers star is expected to make an immediate impact in a Ravens secondary that’s looking to regain its dominant edge in the AFC.
Alexander, a two-time Pro Bowler and widely regarded as one of the top cover corners in the NFL, brings lockdown ability, speed, and swagger to a unit that has dealt with key departures and injuries over the past two seasons. Though his 2024 campaign was interrupted by minor injuries and internal friction in Green Bay, Alexander now gets a fresh start with a team primed for a Super Bowl run.
“I’m coming to Baltimore with one goal — to win,” Alexander said in a brief team statement. “The Ravens play defense the right way, and I’m ready to be part of that legacy.”
The Ravens’ defensive coordinator, Zach Orr, is expected to use Alexander in a variety of cover schemes, giving Baltimore more flexibility against high-powered offenses in the AFC. Paired with Marlon Humphrey, the addition of Alexander gives the Ravens arguably one of the most talented cornerback duos in the league.
His short-term deal also reflects a “prove-it” mindset — a chance for Alexander to re-establish himself as one of the league’s premier defensive backs while helping a contender chase a title.
Ravens GM Eric DeCosta called the signing “a strategic move to make an already strong defense even better.”
With training camp just weeks away, all eyes will be on how quickly Alexander gels in Baltimore. But if history is any indicator, the Ravens just made one of the smartest offseason moves yet.
