Juventus have officially sacked head coach Thiago Motta this afternoon after a run of ‘poor’ form this season.
The Italian giants currently sit fifth in the Serie A table after 29 games, with just 9 games left to the end of this season. This means they currently sit outside of the Champions League qualifying spot.
The Turin club have also been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the Round of 16 stage by PSV Eindhoven and also from the Coppa Italia in the Quarterfinal stage by Empoli.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano last week reported that Juventus were discussing Thiago Motta’s future internally revealing that his job was in danger.
Juventus officially announced the sacking of Thiago Motta on Sunday. Igor Tudor will become the club’s head coach for the rest of the season with an option to extend for a further season.
Igor Tudor is expected to turn things around positively at the club and hopefully qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
