With Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Anfield currently uncertain, Liverpool are reportedly eyeing possible replacements for the Englishman already.
The 25-year-old is likely joining Spanish side Real Madrid this summer when his current contract with the reds runs out.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday that the move is now closer than ever. Real Madrid have officially sent contract proposal to Arnold and his team with discussions currently underway.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Liverpool have identified a list of defenders as potential replacement for Alexander-Arnold. Juventus’ defender Andrea Cambiaso is reported to be on the list.
The report also stated that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City were close to signing Cambiaso during the January winter transfer window.
Andrea Cambiaso has been fantastic for Juventus this season and the club could be reluctant to let him leave. Liverpool will also rival Manchester City for his signature if Juventus are prepared to let him leave this summer.
