BYU Men’s Volleyball is building for the future, and head coach Shawn Olmstead made that vision clear with the announcement of four standout recruits set to join the Cougars’ 2026 roster. The group includes a mix of national talent and dynamic skill sets, positioning BYU as a continued force in collegiate volleyball for years to come.
“These young men embody what we look for in a BYU athlete—talent, character, and a relentless work ethic,” Olmstead said. “They’ve already shown leadership and excellence at the high school and club levels, and we’re excited to help them grow even further.”
The 2026 recruiting class features:
- Ethan Miles – A 6’7” outside hitter from California, known for his explosive vertical and sharp court awareness. Miles has been ranked among the top five OHs in the nation and brings elite scoring ability to the Cougars.
- Logan Reyes – A crafty 6’1” setter from Texas with an exceptional feel for the game. His court vision, quick hands, and leadership have earned him MVP honors in several national tournaments.
- Kai Nakamura – A defensive specialist/libero from Hawaii, praised for his fast reflexes, consistency in serve-receive, and relentless defensive hustle. Coaches rave about his energy and competitive edge.
- Marcus Tait – A versatile middle blocker from Utah who combines size with athleticism. Tait’s quick lateral movement and strong blocking presence make him a valuable asset at the net.
