Brazilian winger Antony has been on fire since arriving at Spanish a Real Betis on loan from Manchester United.
Antony who was considered a flop at Manchester United after failing to impress at Old Trafford since joining from Ajax for €100 million in 2022 has turned critic’s impressions towards him from negative to positive in his first two months in Spain.
The 25-year-old has scored four goals and provided four assists 13 games across all competitions for Betis, helping the club advance into the Conference League Quarterfinal.
Real Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo has said that the club will do everything in it’s power to keep the winger at the club for another season.
Fajardo told Estadio Deportivo: “It is a source of satisfaction on a personal level[having brought Antony to Betis], but it is the result of teamwork.
“Although I am responsible for the sporting management, there are many people involved in this signing. It is still early days, but we will try, in different ways, to do everything to continue enjoying Antony.”
“We are one of the few Spanish teams that are in two competitions, on the verge of a quarter-final, and for us it means a lot to be able to be in the semi-finals of a European competition.” He added
