Trusted NHL GM Reveals Likely Destination for Mike Sullivan After Penguins Exit….

A well-respected NHL General Manager may have just spilled the beans on where former Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan is headed next.

Earlier this week, the Penguins made a major organizational shift by firing Sullivan, who had led the team since December 2015. During his tenure, he brought home back-to-back Stanley Cup championships but struggled in recent years to guide the team deep into the playoffs.

Now, with several NHL teams searching for new head coaches, Sullivan’s future is a hot topic. One of those teams, the Vancouver Canucks, recently learned that head coach Rick Tocchet will not be returning for the 2025–26 season. However, according to Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford, Sullivan won’t be heading west.

“I know my good friend Mike Sullivan does not want to leave the East,” Rutherford said. “He’s a real good family man. I talked to him yesterday—not about coming here—just after he left Pittsburgh. And I know he wants to stay on the East Coast.”

That leaves two top contenders in the East: the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers, both currently in need of a head coach. While both teams have strong potential, multiple reports suggest the Rangers may be Sullivan’s preferred destination

Down 4–1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7 of the playoffs, most fans had lost hope. But this team wasn’t done. With under 11 minutes left in the third, they began to chip away. Nathan Horton made it 4–2. Then Lucic brought the Garden roaring with a goal at 18:38. Just 31 seconds later, Patrice Bergeron tied it up—sending the game to overtime. And in that extra frame, it was Bergeron again, burying the winner and cementing a night that Bruins fans will never forget. From heartbreak to heroics in less than ten minutes. Absolute madness
